DOVEY COE is about a twelve-year-old girl who is practically a tomboy. She lives in Indian Creek in the mountains of North Carolina. Dovey has a little problem when it comes to keeping her mouth shut. She is really close to her older brother, Angus, who is deaf. Angus has two dogs that were given to him to protect him- Tom and Huck. She also has a sister that’s older than both Dovey and Angus, Caroline, who catches all men’s attention and wishes to become a teacher. But the boy that hopes to marry Caroline one day is Parnell Caraway. Dovey does her best to do whatever she can to take his eyes off of her sister.
I will have to say that DOVEY COE is a really great book. I recommend this to those who like suspense and sad books. Read this book to find out if Dovey’s plan works or if she gets into trouble that will cause hearts to skip a beat…
